132... chocobos
You know, I've talked to a lot of people in this city and a third of them seem to know what a chocobo is and how to take care of one. They talk about how useful they are, and how fast and how to groom one and how to breed them, yet I haven't seen any except the ones in the zoo. Maybe it's me, but that just seems odd that there's none in the wild. None in the forest, none underground, not even a couple in that old farm. And I don't know about other people, but the ones in the zoo really need to get out of the zoo. They look pretty scrawny.
I really miss racing them. A bike's good, but racing a chocobo has it's own appeal.
...Maybe I can get a stable going? That reminds me. Reno, are you up yet?

They're large birds, used mainly for riding and carrying supplies by those that can't afford other transportation - which is about everyone. They're also very useful in war, and can actually run over water if bred for it.

And now we're completely morbid. I need to stop doing that to people.

Okay then, not so morbid subject: Are people like you common where you come from?

Except. Sometime after I left a mutant with some serious power went insane and decided there shouldn't be any more mutants and overnight we went from numbering in the tens of thousands, to barely the hundreds. People just lost their powers, stopped being mutants.

Then one day, one of the elites found out how he was made and decided to destroy everything. He was stopped, but the world is still recovering.

I still got bruises from when he threw me through a bulding and then impaled me.

And the second time.
And the third time.
I'm surprised this place hasn't brought him over yet. He can't stay dead back home, he should have no problem showing up here.
