After Meteorfall we get roughly two or three blackmail attempts a month. Most of the time it's some random crankpot claiming the voices in his head are Shinra's doing. However occasionally we get a former scientist or executive with actual damaging information.

I don't know if you're been made aware of this but the company is not very well liked after Meteor, and our position is made extremely vulnerable by Rufus's ill health. We cannot afford more enemies. And from what I've heard happens in our future, we especially cannot afford to have Rufus linked to SOLDIER.

If Rufus is to rebuild the company he'll need a good public image, not matter what the cost.
