20... loveless

'Infinite in mystery is the gift of the goddess
We seek it thus, and take to the sky.
Ripples form on the water's surface
The wandering soul knows no rest.'

Strange. I still remember it. I haven't read it since... well, since a long time ago. At least it puts me to sleep.

Interesting.

What's it from?

[identity profile] cloudsinstrife.livejournal.com 2008-07-11 07:53 am (UTC)(link)
Loveless. It's a popular poem back home. They made it into a play and everyone saw at least one version of it even if it was being dragged there against my will.

[identity profile] delightfulirony.livejournal.com 2008-07-11 07:58 am (UTC)(link)
I can see why it's popular. There's relevance in the imagery. It seems like it has the appropriate kind of ambiguity.

What makes you think of it?

[identity profile] cloudsinstrife.livejournal.com 2008-07-11 08:03 am (UTC)(link)
I know there are several schools of thoughts concerning the meaning behind it, but it was never finished. The last act is missing.

Old friends.

[identity profile] delightfulirony.livejournal.com 2008-07-11 08:11 am (UTC)(link)
If the last act was never finished, then it doesn't exist. A story doesn't exist that doesn't end, even if it ends at a cliffhanger.

Old friends arrived or old friends left?

[identity profile] cloudsinstrife.livejournal.com 2008-07-11 08:15 am (UTC)(link)
I've heard a couple endings written by different people but it doesn't fit right.

Left.

[identity profile] delightfulirony.livejournal.com 2008-07-11 08:17 am (UTC)(link)
That's the point.

A friend of yours? Or an enemy?

A sweetheart?

[identity profile] cloudsinstrife.livejournal.com 2008-07-11 08:28 am (UTC)(link)
I never really got it before. I guess I had a lot of other things on my mind.

Enemy, friend, swetheart, I still remember them when they ar egone.

It sounds like it's about fairy dust.

[identity profile] cloudsinstrife.livejournal.com 2008-07-11 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not. no one really knows what it is about but I think fairy is pretty far from Goddess.

Oh dear gawd, that play?

Cloud, I thought you had better taste!

[identity profile] cloudsinstrife.livejournal.com 2008-07-11 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes that poem. The plays weren't the best version of it.

Hey, you spend five years in a place where it's everywhere and you tell me that you don't remember it.

Pretty. I can see why you'd remember it.

My favorite part is 'There is no hate, only joy, for you are beloved by the goddess. Hero of the Dawn, Healer of Worlds.'

If I can find a copy here, would you like to look at it?

Alright, I'll see if I can find it.

How are you doing?

[identity profile] browning-baby.livejournal.com 2008-07-11 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Busy, right now. On patrol, and I think our roomie is about to hand me more work.

The body, right? Well, keeping busy is usually the best medicine. At least, I think so.

[identity profile] browning-baby.livejournal.com 2008-07-11 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep.

I'm too damn tired to be this busy.

You get used to it.

What would help you sleep easier?

voice

[identity profile] browning-baby.livejournal.com 2008-07-11 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I know. I never got a lot of real rest back home.

.... I'd sleep better if I didn't keep having bad dreams every time I lay down.

[ooc: She was going to say sex, but she just couldn't XD]

[identity profile] cloudsinstrife.livejournal.com 2008-07-11 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Same here. It feels weird to get a lot of sleep at times.

...Would a little company before you go to bed help keep them away?

[ooc; XD Cloud would be all O.o about it since he really hasn't had that many encounters to know much. >.>]

[identity profile] browning-baby.livejournal.com 2008-07-11 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I almost feel lazy if I get a full eight hours.

Company would be good. It's a lot better than meditation, I can tell you.

I'd be doing good if I hit even six hours. I don't know how some people manage to sleep longer than that.

Then I guess I'll give you that company, Anita.
